Lake Harriet • Thanksgiving Day • November 24th, 2016
The Drumstick Dash has added a Team Challenge to this year's event. Teams may consist of any group of 5 or more individuals. Prizes will be awarded in two categories:
Teams must have at least one female and one person over age 40. All team members must compete in the 10K. Top 5 times will be added for team score. Team prize is $100 cash.
Teams must consist of related individuals. Team members may participate in any of the Drumstick Dash events - 10K, Pi Run, Mile, or Half-Mile. Group with largest number of members finishing any of the events will win. Prizes provided by Mill City Running.
All events are run around Lake Harriet in south Minneapolis. Registration and packet pick-up take place in the Lake Harriet Bandshell, 4135 West Lake Harriet Parkway, Minneapolis, MN 55419. The start and finish lines for all events are on the west side of Lake Harriet near the Bandshell parking lot.
Parking is available on the residential streets surrounding Lake Harriet and in nearby Linden Hills. It is a short walk from most residential parking on the west side of Lake Harriet. We ask that you DO NOT park on the parkway around the lake as we need the whole width of the roadway for the runners. If you do park along the race course, you will not be permitted to leave until all runners are finished, which is approximately 9:45 a.m. The bandshell parking lot is closed except for official race vehicles.
The Drumstick Dash 10K course is USATF certified and consists of two loops around Lake Harriet on the roads. Course is moderately hilly on north and south ends, flat on east and west sides.
The Pi Run uses the same start and finish lines as the Drumstick Dash 10K. The difference is the Pi Run is one lap around the lake which is approximately 3.14 miles. This is a little more than 5K, which is 3.1 miles. The Pi Run course is not certified.
The Cranberry races use out and back courses on the west side of Lake Harriet. Again, the start and finish lines are the same as the Drumstick Dash 10K. The Cranberry Cruise One Mile is a USATF certified race course.
Participants may pick up their race packets, including bib, chip, and shirt:
Participants may have someone else pick up their packet for them. All the person needs is your name. They will sign for you packet when they pick it up. Please make sure and let them know what size shirt you would like.
The Drumstick Dash 10K and Pi Run feature chip timing by MTEC Results. Runners are individually timed and receive both gun and chip (net) time results. The Cranberry Cruise is a fun run and there will be a clock at the finish line.
Overall male and female winners in the Drumstick Dash 10K receive a $100 cash award.
The Drumstick Dash and Pi Run fields are each limited to 850 and 650 for a total of 1500 runners. This is to ensure everyone has room to run at their own pace. To further enhance the runner experience and ensure everyone has a safe race, no strollers or pets are permitted in the Drumstick Dash or the Pi Run. Runners may wear headphones if they choose. However, please note that you must be able to hear the instructions of race officials at all times during the race. Please adjust volumes accordingly. Thanks for your understanding and have a great race.
